Hey Guys,


Thinking of getting a new computer just wondering if everything would be compatible ETC. So here it is:

CPU: Sandy Bridge i5 2500k 3.3GHz 6MB Cache
GPU: XFX ATI 6950 2GB DDR5 (planning to Xfire in future)
MOBO: ASUS P8P67-M PRO
RAM: 4GB DDR3 1600 CL9 Dual channel
PSU: Silverstone Strider ST75F 750W Silver Cert
ODD:Samsung Black 22X SATA Dual Layer DVDRW RETAIL
HDD: WD Caviar Black 500GB SATA3 6Gb/s 7200RPM 32MB Cache
CASE: Cooler Master CM690 II Advanced

This would be my first attempt at a computer build so please bare with me.
Just a few questions:
Since the Mobo is mATX would it still be able to run that PSU?
Also do you see anything that would present a compatibility issue?

Yea i was thinking the usual windows 7 64-bit. Any thoughts on using linux for gaming rather than windows? would much rather not give microsoft my money.

It's a long discussion about consoles or PCs. It's odd it comes down to that. I think my nephew has the right answer with some Xbox and a Gamefly subscription. His gaming costs are less than most PC gamers and yes you can bet someone will mention "what about the MODs?"

As far as Linux goes, there's some nice things but the eco-spere of gaming doesn't give much love for it.

Hope you don,t mind but I thought I should mention your spec is almost identical (I have 1 Tb as opposed to your 500Gb HDD, different box and I,ve got Kingston RAM) to my machine which I had built for me one month ago. Goes like a dream and I,m over the moon with it. Not yet done the auto overclocking yet!
