SDHC cards class difference-what?

What is the difference between a Class 4 and Class 6 card if the capacity is the same, in this case 4GB?

But it's gets worse than that. Some devices will go much slower when you put a class card that is beyond its capability. Be sure your device notes Class 6 support or you may pay for speed and notice it's not so hot.

it seems to be doubling each increase in class. I wonder if that's how SDHC media are being classified (320mb for class10?), in theory that is. What do you think?

The docs (it's for a camera) just say to use a "good quality" SDHC card but give no info on speeds of same.
