No Sound On Dell Latitude D630 Please Help!

I recently purchased a used Dell D630 Laptop. I changed the operating system from Vista to XP with Service Pack 2. I re-installed all the drivers and everything now works perfect except for the sound. The Device Manager cannot find a sound device, and searching for new hardware does no good. I've downloaded all the drivers provided by Dell and other 'compatible' drivers from several forums, all with no luck. Looking for any advice that could help me to fix this problem. Thanks.

Doesn't XP require us to install Microsoft's (MS UAA) driver before the audio for most systems? Example at http://forums.cnet.com/7726-7587_102-2699006.html
