Look into a gateway bridge cable setup. This should be a USB type cable. These aren't that expensive and do exactly what you need, via PC-to-PC once setup. You can also try the usual network arrangements like using Ethernet from/to hub/router or direct cross-over cable. If your laptops are wireless, use an ad hoc wi-fi setup acknowledging a simple network. While I suggest these it all depends on your setup for any network. But, usually having win7 makes it easier, just create a new network. You can google details, but one of the above will work.

Hopefully you were wise enough to SAVE the installation files you downloaded as well as any registration information they require such as serial numbers.
