Should I replace my motherboard or buy a new PC?

This is my first time posting in this forum and this is kinda a long problem so bear with me...

Ok so last year or so I bought a new PC from new egg and it was an IBuyPower desktop with a 64 bit processor 4 gigs of ram and a 400gig hard drive.

Well at some point the power supply died on me and me and my dad got around to replacing it a couple of months later but ever since we got it running it gave terrible blue screen messages at random. We took it to a computer repair shop and the technician told us viruses were causing the blue screens they also checked the ram and memory and had no problems.I have some computer knowledge and had done clean reinstalls myself and still got blue screen so I was a bit skeptical. So they wiped the hard drive and reinstalled windows vista and while I was there I decided to get new graphics card installed I had a geforce 9600 gt and had them install a nvidia geforce 250 gts. So I get home boot up the computer and I realize they install windows vista 32Bit when my computer came with 64bit installed. So we took it back and we had a new technician this time. Well he installs windows 64 bit and right off the bat gets BSOD so as a test he reinstalls 32 bit which works fine till he restarts the computer and the blue screens start back up. So he calls us up tells us he thinks the issue is the hard drive. In his report he says he reinstalled windows 64 bit on the new harddrive and it worked fine. Then his report says once he tried to install the windows updates the BSOD started back up. He said he got Stop 3B, Stop 124, and Stop C2 he also said it was not consistently the same BSOD. He did some research and apparently disabled the audio in the Bios but it still didn't work.He said swapping out the motherboard would be $100+ and $42 for the install but advised against it as we would have the same CPU and Same Ram.


So I'm just wondering what my next step should be take his advice and invest in a new unit as mine is no longer under warranty or take it else where and try to get the motherboard replaced?
