Went from 3.0 ghz P-4 to that one and am pleased. You can do better on the price, however. I don't know the board but you've selected a micro ATX so make sure to get a case that matches. As the other poster says, the RAM isn't right. That appears to be for a laptop. If you like Crucial...and I do...go right to their site to find a match for the MB you choose. I don't game either so just bought a midrange ATI card with passive cooling. I went with a fanless design with larger heat sink area. Fan can get noisy and crap out. It's probable the on board sound of most decent motherboards is adequate for music unless you need all kind of synthesized stuff. I'd leave the sound alone until I heard it how it sounded. Sound cards are easy to add. The system I built last year runs Win7, is boring, but works for my purposes. Good luck.

and Windows 98 wizard and expert to get it working on a modern PC. The CPU is too fast, the hard disk to big and there's more RAM than such OS's can handle. My PC from 2005 already had a motherboard that said it was incompatible with Windows 98.

But you'll certainly be able to find a bootmanager to manage the whole collection of bootable partitions on one or more disks.
