strange white sqaure in the lower right hand corner of my de

hello everyone i am not sure if i have the right catergory but heres my problem, a couple days ago i booted up and a strange white square about an in high and an inch wide appeared. i have scanned for viruses and nothing. also when i hoover over it the arrow goes into the timer. i have windows 7 premium 64bit. if you need more info let me know

Right click at that white square - what happens ?

opening the task manager

when right clicking the square nothing happens no menus or anything. the only thing running under applications was firefox

Teatimer is (for me) proving to be trouble when mixed with other protection titles. I'd uninstall that for now.

I agree with the HijackThis scan BUT ...

I will also suggest that you check for possible updates for your Video Drivers for your GPU. Some time back computers with Vista with ATI GPUs were getting white squares on their screens and a driver update fixed the problem.

I have also heard of some games causing the problem but normally a re-boot removes the square until the game is played again.

Last but not least, if you have made use of some color calibration utility they have been known to cause interesting aberations.
