Is Bonjour program necessary?

I downloaded iTunes on My Visat OS
Along with that came Bonjour. Do I really need that if all I want iTunes for is to download, store, and play music?

I have 1 desktop PC, no other computers hooked up. Don't file share, unless you count buying music from amazon as file sharing

So do I really need to keep bonjour program?

Cant ask apple...

in order to particiapte in their forums you have to download other apple stuff, which I don't want to do. Again using Vista and just wanting to download music froom ITunes and set up iTunes program on my machine. Not intending to file share with others.
Have hear that bonjour mucks with your system
Now I have iTunes program downloaded but along with that comes bonjour. So do I need Bonjour or is it just bloat that is not necessary for running iTunes

It's a Vista HP DV6000 if you must ask. Bonjour had zero impact.
