What should be on the D: Recovery drive?

Hello everyone, I was doing a manual disk defrag today and noticed a button under C: - Properties - Tools called Backup Now. I figured I had been missing out doing this all along and should do it right away. So I backed up to my D: Recovery drive. I now realize that was dumb and my recovery drive is FULL! I've tried to do a system restore, but it will only restore the C: drive. Can someone please help me decide what needs to be on my D: Recovery drive so I don't delete something I need? Thank you in advance, I appreciate your time. I am running a Dell laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. The folders in the drive are: $AVG, $Recycle, BlackSilver(the name of my laptop), dell, sources, System Volume Information, Tools, Windows, and MediaID.bin
