new acer computer and I can't watch videos online

When i go online to watch a video the video keeps stopping and starting. I don't understand why it won't play right through. Is there some kind of program that is missing on my computer. How can I fix this problem? Following is the info for my computer:
Acer - Aspire M1201, Rating3.0, Processor AMD Athlon
Duel Core Processor 4050e 2.00 GHz, 32 bit operating system
Windows Vista Home Basic.I would really appreciate any help you can provide. Thank YOu

The problem is your Internet connection isn't sufficiently fast. You will either need to upgrade your connection, or just wait for the file to completely buffer and then play it.
