Computer help forum: Problems with Ad Aware

My husband installed the Ad Aware software-sorry not sure which version, and ever since then I can't load/install anything. I can't get into my work stuff and I recently purchased MS Office Student version and can't figure out how to install it. I try to open or install it and it says that "Ad Aware scanning engine could not be found." I had to uninstall Ad Aware because it was not letting me load certain things I needed, but even after doing this. I still cannot load anything. I need MS Word for school and need it installed. How can I fix this problem? I would like to kill my husband for even putting it on here in the first place. Sometimes I can save things to my desktop and loead them from there, but I can't figure out how to do this when installing MS Office. I tried to look online to see if I could talk to Microsoft but would not like to pay an additional $30.00 for someone to help me. I'm not made of money you know. If anyone has any ideas how I can get the Ad Aware out of my life, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
