eMachine W3400 - Microstar Ms7145 motherboard schematic

My friends emachine W3400 on powering spins fans for ~1/4 sec and dies before POST - it was poorly maintained (full of dust bunnies, broken connectors etc.) but on cleaning and replacing connectors "looks" okay (not really a diagnostic, I agree). The power supply lists 280W max on +5 and +12 and replacing with my own supply from an Acer(360 W)does the same. Power Good signal to power supply gives a slight tick to ~.63 V viewed on 'scope. My Question is does this signal come directly from the CPU or is there an intermediate device (SCR, supervisory controller etc) as on earlier AMD CPUs? A schematic would be helpful but I can't find one on Internet. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks; Kristian

Are not available for less money than a new board and CPU so feel free to keep looking but they are not to be had.

Research this -> BAD CAPS.

The model you noted and the story you told would have me look for that issue plus a depleted CMOS battery.

I checked the caps and CMOS battery which seem okay and all fuses, discretes etc. look good. I know AMD makes a rugged processor so I'm just hoping for a cheap fix.
