Programs wont start after upgrading

I just recently upgraded an older work computer from Win 2000 to XP, and now some of my programs that had been working are now not working.

The install was an in-place upgrade from 2K to XP so as not to lose my data and various installs. Most of the programs work fine, but Office 97 and AutoCad will not launch.

I know I can repair the Office 97 install with the disk, but I cant find my AutoCad install disk.

Does anyone know why these programs wont run, and how I can get AutoCad to run without buying another license?

What won't run (assuming it won't launch or crashes) will probably have to be re-installed. Windows 2000 and XP actually had a lot of commonality, but some thing just don't transfer without a re-install. I'm not sure a repair will work for office, but maybe. However you installed Autocad the first time, repeat it. If disk lost contact them give them the current license and ask for a replacement CD. Probaly cost you the media. In some cases it might be a driver issue and you can research the differences or patches required to support W2K software. Past that not much you can do.
