Can't install realplayer sp

My wife has a HP dv8225nr with XP and has to use Rrealplayer for Czech internet tv. It was running slow and she clicked on update for Realplayer. It removed and stopped in the middle of the installing SP and wanted her to try the 14 day trial. When she said no it cleared everything off the screen. I have cleaned the reg. and taken down the firewall, it still does the same thing. Even tried the 14 day trial and it still clears the screen. It does put empty folders in the reg. but not on the C:/progam files. We have loaded other programs with no problem. Disk has been scanned for both virus and spyware. It is clean. Can someone help?

If this is an older machine, then NO update is going to make a program run faster, just so you know.

Now, as for your problem, the new version might be incompatible with some part of your machine (hardware or software, I don't know and it doesn't matter), in which case, you should find an older version and attempt to install it. Bet it works.

sorry about that "tell us the specs of the computer" thing. I put that on an earlier post, and it automatically put it in as the title to this last one. No, I don't need the specs of your computer!

Older version of Real Player

As for the Machine it is 3 years old but running XP the chip is an AMD Turion64, ML32, 1.8GHz. 2 gigs of ram. I agree that an older version would work better. The problem is when searching for it I either come up with SP (even cnet) or I get a site that has software not related and usually causes a virus to be found. You would think Real.com would offer some type of support for installing since their forum has several other people having the same problem but yet no one has come up with a solution. Do you know where I can get an older version?
