Computer help forum: Reset computer to factory setting & getting failure readings

Did you format the hard drive and reinstall everything using Recovery discs?

Which operating system is being used?

Laptop or desktop?

Have you tried accessing the BIOS settings and changing the boot order or disabling the A drive recognition?

Unfortunately, you didn't give enough detail.. There are a number of things which allow you to "reset to factory settings".. You can reset Internet Explorer back to Factory settings, etc. Please tell us what you did. WHERE did you "just click set to factory settings"?

As to accessing the BIOS, restart the computer and watch the startup screen for the F-key which you press to access "Setup".. On Dell computers, it can be the F1 or F2 keys usually.. Once you identify which key it is, restart the computer and press the appropriate key to load the BIOS settings. Once there, you'll need to use the keyboard to navigate through the BIOS, eventually finding the appropriate boot order settings where you can remove the floppy disc from the boot order.

that will be the floppy. The others are all SATA hard drive connectors.

Also that bluebrd212 said he "clicked on" drivers in the BIOS. The BIOS doesn't accept mouse use, so I don't see what could have been 'clicked on'.

bluebird212, did you access the BIOS?, or something from within Windows itself?

This is what a typical BIOS screen looks like. You can only navigate using the keyboard, not the mouse.
