Help using my Dell Dimension 4700 with a wireless network

Hi - I'm moving into a place that has a wireless network. I have a Dell Dimension 4700 desktop and I read that I can use it to access the network. Can anyone give me the basic information on how to do that? Do I need to purchase a card of some kind? Do I need anything else?

The network is already setup and being used by other residents.

Or whatever your budget will allow. Easy to install, just run the CD, follow the directions, done.

Another alternative

If you don't really want to open the case on the computer to insert a new wireless card, you could try a USB Wireless Adapter.

I've just done this with my Dell 8300. A wireless adapter similar to the one here at Amazon, (that's the UK Amazon).

It sets up and connects to my new Netgear wireless capable router and is working well at the moment.

Wired and Wireless combined ... Did this work with an AOI ?

4 Hours later.
Problem: We have a Dell Dimension 4700. This is the main office computer running XP. Tried to set up the wireless and error message states does not have card and/or adapter. so ... here we are.

We have ATT Wireless Set up in the home.

3 Laptops - 2 Dell With Vista (wish I had waited til Windows 7)
1 Gateway with Windows 7

Purchased: HP Photosmart Premium All In One, to scan, old photos and important documents which are located in the huge file in the house and many photos I want are already on the Dimension.
or I would just take the printer elsewhere, and just use the laptops. Will the adapter and/or card work for my situation, or should I just hardwire fo now and worry about the wireless networking later? The replies have given me new hope, but they were back in 2009 .
