OCR software for Dell printer

Please let me know if I am using the wrong forum.

I have a Dell A920 printer and Windows xp home.

I recently had a tech reinstall Windows. Now, when I try to scan a document into my computer I get an error message telling me that "An OCR application is provided for you on your CD in the OCR directory" and telling me to install it before I can to the scan.

But I don't have the CD. It is not among the CDs I got from Dell when I bought my computer and printer from them, although their service man said I should have gotten one.

So I went to a Dell website and downloaded the drivers for this printer. But I still get that same message.

Should the download of the drivers have included the OCR software or it that something different from the drivers?

In any case, can anyone suggest a remedy for my problem?

that's the link to the driver for your printer, try downloading it, if it doesn't work you will need the cd for the printer

...such OCR software should be contained in the overall Printer installation software.. Like you , I find only the printer drivers at the Dell site so you'll need to contact Dell and ask them for the needed software CD..
