My monitor keeps shutting off

by LTPowell - 4/24/09 10:35 AM

K, well .... about 2ish weeks ago my monitors will occasional turn off then turn right back on (turn off as in stand-by, i also have 2 monitors hooked up, a LCD, and a CRT) it normaly comes right back on within 1-2 seconds, but today my lcd monitor shut off, and didint come back on... my CRT came back on like normal, but my lcd just sat there... i tride turning it on/off/on/off, that didint work... i eventualy just shut my computer off and when i turned it back on it was fine, (then when i turned it back on, about 5 mins in it did it again, but just the turn off/on quickly, it didint stay off)... i cant figure it out, my video card is updated, my computer is virus free, its running just fine... (cpu usage is normal).

iv asked a couple of my friends, and they say its proly the power supply, but im not sure how to check if it is or not (i dont have a extra PS to switch out)...

this problem usually happens about once to twice in a day... it seems like it happens when i just start to do things... but just stupid things, like checking my email or somthing, there is no big dif between if im playing a game or just browsing the internet, it just pops on then off every so often... it hasnt botherd me that much befor, but today when it wouldnt come back on... that was what make me annoyed... any help/suggestions?
