Removing McAfee Security Center and all its components?

I have a new Dell Inspiron 1520 with McAfee Security Center preinstalled as a 30 day trial. Because of past bad experience with McAfee, I want to remove it and install a range of other preferred security software. So I want to make sure I get rid of McAfee completely.
I'm still within the 30 days and I have NOT yet 'registered' this preinstalled McAfee product. The popup appears to suggest that if I embark on the registration process and opt to decline the EULA, the product will uninstall (or perhaps just be deactivated?). I note that McAfee Security Center is listed under "Add/Remove Programs". So I plan (1) to decline the EULA, and then (2) to remove the program if it is still listed under "Add/Remove".
But I don't trust this to get rid of all the traces of McAfee. So, what else, or what more, can I do to make sure that McAfee has gone completely before I start adding other security software? I had thought of downloading and running McAfee's own removal tool MCPR.exe. But I note that on the relevant page of the McAfee site it indicates that this is designed to remove RETAIL products, and it warns that any OEM McAfee products should be registered before running the removal tool (why?). I really don't want to register, in case that begins to lock me into the McAfee spider's web!
Incidentally I've checked what Security Center contains, and it lists the following (though they don't show separately in "Add/Remove Programs"):
Security Center v 8.1
VirusScan v 12.1
Personal Firewall v 9.1
Anti-Spam v 9.1
Privacy Service v 10.1
Advice please, on how to ensure a clean, tidy, and full removal of the McAfee products.
