Helpppppppppp!! New computer

I have this new laptop and one of the main things I can't straighten out, it that is continues to send me a message saying it must shut down my IE. It has to do with something called add-ons. I tried what it said about enabling/disabling but confused me. Also, the Windows security alerts at the top of IE window?? They keep showing up. The main site I spend time on is christianmingle.com if that helps. Also a fitness site called myfitnesspal.com. The biggest problem is me, as I don't know this Vista well at all and this is the first laptop I have had. I can't pick up my wireless signal from my router very well so I added the Belkin Adapter to the laptop and it seems to help. Not sure if I should use it when the laptop already has a built in adapter??
Thank you in advance for any help on this. Info on puter below:) denise
