My CPU is always running at 100%!!!!

HI my computer is running at 100% i thought it was a virus so did a reinstall of windows.i deleted all the old partitions and created a new one? it lags when the installation is in process so i turned it off and when i started it back on and it continued the installation. after the installation was complete i checked task manager and it was still at 100%? and ideas??

List the programs you are running.

Since the cpu has very little to do with memory, you need to see what programs require constant access to the cpu. If the cpu isn't fast enough, get another. If the cpu cannot handle the thread process, get one that can.

it says the system process is using all the memory? i dont understand i just did a reinstall of windows it should be running fine?

I have never had this happening myself, but many others did, or there wouldn't be so many hits in http://www.google.com/search?q=xp+%22system+process%22+100

See if anything applies to your situation.

100% cpu use

What is the system, OS, processor, physical memory etc.? There could be a few issues creating the problem but need to know more about your system.
