Laptop Keyboard keys not functioning

My notebook keyboard stopped functioning - don't know what caused this.

I suspected a virus or problem with the keyboard itself.

Ok, what do I do now?

I've tried external keyboard they work fine.

ASUS Z7000/Z70N
Windows XP Home

Sounds like a hardware failure to me.

Since there is no OS loaded to get to the BIOS that looks like a hard failure. How ASUS handles this will be interesting. In the US it's not been easy.

I able to get into BIOS using the external keyboard. I tried Knoppix boot cd all hardware working correctly except the keyboard. So in your case what you think might be the main problem? I suppose it time to replace the keyboard?

If so, I'm willing to do this myself since this laptop is not under warranty anymore.

If you come across this situation before so what is your finding to this problem was it the keyboard is faulty or other hardware related?

I don't now for sure but I'm going to trying disassembly and give it a good clean, re-connect the cable and see if that help. If not, will try if I could find a part for replacement.

Please if you have info share with me.

Oh, I do need the Service / Repair Manuals does anyone know where I can get it for ASUS Z7000 series?

You went there for their great customer service and more. So it's time to call them up and ask for the parts or a diagram or even "a clue" on how to get the keyboard out.
