Full screen shows up black

I just got a new Gateway laptop with an HDMI port and Vista. Everything was awesome for the first few days, but now when I try to watch any embedded videos in fullscreen, the whole screen goes black. This is really annoying, as I have been enjoying using it to watch Hulu through my Samsung LCD. Any ideas?

Is it "black" or "blank" ?
Have you tried a different browsr ?
What happened when you watched the video - did a player (e.g. WMP, Real player...) pop up ?
How did you get into "Full Screen" ?

I don't think I get what you mean when you ask if it's black or blank. I am using Firefox, and when I click the button below the video to expand, nothing is displayed on the screen. No player comes up and I can still hear the audio, just my screen goes completely black (or blank - not sure which is the correct word for this). I just tried it in IE and it worked, but I hate using it. So I guess there's a setting I need to change or a plugin I need for Firefox. I just tried to mess around with it but couldn't find anything. Any idea what it may be? Thanks for your help.

...share the the website where the video is so that we can try it out ? Which version of Firefox ? "Expanding", where you enlarge the viewing area is not the same as "Full screen", which can be done with a setting at a media player and where you lose the tool bars..."F11" also evoke "Full screen" in normal viewing of a web page, but this is a little different ...

"Black" is when the screen is very dark in color...seems no video feed...seeems inactive.
"Blank" is when the screen is light in color...seems to have a video feed of "nothing"...seems active...
In both cases, you see nothing, and different with the screen powered off.
