jumpy cursor/slow computer

Hello out there! My cursor keeps jumping up the page when I'm not touching it....my computer is moving very slow also...I have a dell dimension 2400 and windows xp proffesional sp2. Can anyone help me with this? The cursor moves even if I'm playing a game.....and my computer is slow when I'm not even connected to the internet,
I've tried turning off automatic updates but that didn't work....Please HELP!!

First, open the Control Panel, then the "Mouse" icon, then click on the "Pointer Options" tab, then UNCHECK the "Enhance Pointer Precision" box. Click on "apply", then OK.

In addition, if you haven't already, please run a full system scan from the free online link below. (You'll need to use Internet Explorer.):
