Computer help forum: Need Suggestions on This Black Friday Deal

thats about what I'd expect to pay for that kind of system, it isn't enough to drop my jaw to the floor, basically, they aren't listing any information aside from Athlon64 x2, so it'd be nice to know which A64, if its the 3600 or 3800 (likely) its not really worth it, 1GB of RAM is lacking for modern systems, basically its buy a monitor and get a free computer, or part of a free computer, it isn't a great deal, its just a normal deal, sorry to say, none of those look all that impressive imo, the Pentium D 925 for $299 after $250 MIR looks decent, if it can be upgraded at all, but I doubt thats the case

they're still slower than core2 at the same clock speed and they top out at much lower speeds. phenoms probably won't hit 3ghz until they do a respin next spring. so i don't recommend getting a phenom pc unless its significantly cheaper than a comparable core2 pc.

btw, the new core2 (penryn) 45nm chips will run on any mobo based on the intel g33,q35,p35,and x38 chipsets and recent revisions of the nforce 600.
