cl rc engine3 dummy winidow

On a brand new Dell laptop running XP, the error message "cl rc engine3 dummy winidow" appears during every single shut down or restart. This seemed to start right after downloading a spell checker for Outlook Express (because of Office 2007) from Snapfiles. Don't know if this is related or not. We have installed and run CCleaner, AVG, Adaware and Spybot to no avail. What is this problem and what can I do to fix it?

Yes, I did Google it and read the threads that were in English. That's where I found out about CCleaner. But, there are so many conflicting ideas about this and I don't see that anything offered there has helped much. I saw that hijackthis is recommended, but then I read somewhere that only people that know what they are doing should attempt to use it. I do not know what I am doing enough to be comfortable.
What is your take on it?

I'd run the usual scans and get the HJT log read.
