yeah ... sometimes.
The problem with Everest or ADA (pre-Everest) or SIW (which I really like) is that they give you the idea they are reading the hardware - and up to a point I am sure they do, but if you have a driver installed for some hardware, it will report the details of the 'hardware' where it really is the info as reported by the driver/software.
Also, sometimes, without a driver in place, some motherboards can not report the presence of some internal features - like sound circuitry. I've seen that happen with some ASUS motherboards.
I have a video card that I knew to have certain abilities, but the driver I installed did not address those abilities. The info coming back only told me the info that the driver was capable of identifying.
