Computer help forum: Problem with IE 7

I read "finishing install". So it should be finished now (if we may believe the message which isn't always true, alas). What happens if you send another page? Same message? Or was it a one-time only message.

If it was one-time only I wouldn't mind. If it's recurring and recurring, it's a potential issue. Did you do anything with your system recently, that might be related (such as installing the cumulative update for IE that came with Windows update last Tuesday, or updating your email program)?

My Outlook Express was working fine until yesterday when Microsoft did one of it's automatic updates. Now I can't get any incoming or send in outgoing emails. When I click on my inbox, all it does is keep saying connection, but no connection is ever made. Is there a free program I can download that is good that can fix whatever is wrong with my Outlook Express, or is there someone who can help me fix it? Thank you for any replies.

One strange thing, however. Google finds only one occurrence of the message you quote "a previous installation did not complete correctly, finishing install" on the web and that relates to Mozilla's Thunderbird (another mail client) and not to Outlook Express. It's in http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/rumblingedge/archives/2006/02/1-5-0-2.html , a little bit below the middle. And none in the news groups.

Are you sure there has never been something Thunderbird-like on your system? That's practically the only explanation to me.
