Neighbor's Wifi was dead (sharing the story)

After a few calls and the usual "Is it enabled?" I went over to look. They own 2 identical laptops, one worked the other didn't.

Bottom line? These laptops have a Wifi on/off button and the button was not lit. I set the 2 laptops side by side and asked him to look and see what was different. He was fixated on the screen icon (no cable connection) and didn't notice the Wifi button was lit on one laptop but not the other.

I asked him to not look at the screen and after a minute he slapped his forehead, pushed the button and we had some coffee.

Yup, you gotta turn it on.

...although the neighbor didn't have two laptops to compare.. He asked me for help. I walked over... He showed me the machine and asked why it didn't connect wirelessly.. I pressed the button to turn on the wifi.. Magic, it worked.

We laughed.
