Computer help forum: Losing disk space fast, for no reason

Hi

about a month ago i realised that my computer was losing disk space, apparently for no reason. I cleared out my temp internet files, cookies, etc... as well as deleted old programs and files that i didnt want anymore. that freed me up a good amount of space, but a couple days later i see that i had lost about 300 megs of space, and all i did was browse the internet. now i know its a problem. I am losing space everyday, even if I only browse the internet for less than an hour. I tried to compress the files in my main hard drive, but it takes forever and almost locks up the computer. I ran AVG antivirus, and it cleaned up some programs that i was unaware of, but the problem is still there. for example, i had 600 megs of space open last week, and already im down to under 200 and i didnt even use my computer fri sat or sun. any form of help would be greatly appreciated.
