XP won't repair or reload after PC crash...

Soyo Dragon II board, AMD 1.6Ghz Duron, 512 mgb DDR ram.
The thing crashed waking up from sleep mode. I tried
restoring the disk with CDs made with Acronis. It says the data base is corrupt even though it was ok when
created. Tried doing an XP repair. It will not copy
files from the CD. Set up keeps saying it can't copy
them. Can't get past 3%. If I skip the file, the next
file says the same thing. So far I have tried three
different CD drives, three different Windows XP Discs,
two different hard drives, both reformatted. Changed
all the ribbon cables. Nothing changes. It still says
the Acronis is corrupt even though I verified it when
it was created. It still will not copy files from the
install CDs to the hard drive, either one. I have even
zero filled the hard drive and tried three more times.
All it does is say the ''name here'' file was not copied
correctly, hit return to try again.'' Or, the ''file name'' can't be copied, hit return to try again."
The hardrive was check with Powermax and HardDrive
regenerator. Neither program found any problem...
What is going on?? Any help greatly appreciated...
