Wont allow Norton to run

I think I got rid of a virus off my computer but it wont seem to allow the Norton Anti Virus thing to run.

My husband said it wont turn on the Windows XP Firewall. Plus the Norton Virus alert keeps popping up but it says it got rid of it and now my computer seems to be working right... all except for these two things.
it says the virus name was Trojan.Cachecachekit

Can anybody help?

I guess I shouldve included this information:

I am using Windows XP.

An HP Pavilion a320n Computer.

Please download the free Ewido spyware/trojan removal tool from the link below, then install it and update it:

Ewido Security Suite

After that, please restart the computer into "Safe Mode", using the instructions in the link below and run the Ewido tool while in Safe Mode..Delete all spyware and trojans it finds. When it finishes scanning, try to run Norton while in Safe Mode as well and if it works, perform a full system scan with it also.

How To Start In 'Safe Mode'

Wont allow me to download Ewido

I just now tried going to the Ewido site you gave to me and it wont allow me to download it, I keep getting one of those "temporary network errors".
