Do I need Ditto Max?

I've had that on my system since I first bought it used and never knew what it was supposed to do. Do I actually need that for anything, because if not, I'd love to be able to just take it out of my PC and disable its drivers and everything.

Ditto Max is the program for your tape drive. See the link below:

If you've never used the program and you don't have a tape drive, then you probably don't need it.

I have that tape drive. I think that's what's in the front of my PC that says Ditto Max on it. I don't think I ever used that for anything. I don't even know what a "tape" drive is or what the tapes would look like, etc. lol The only drives I use are my external zip drive and the internal hard drives. So I know I don't need it for my own use, but when I was checking to see if my PC could be upgraded to windows XP, it mentioned that ditto max would need new drivers. Did it say that because it was just reporting on what hardware I have that doesn't have updated drivers or did it say that because XP needs a tape drive?

work well with the Ditto Max until you upgraded the drivers for it to be XP compliant. If you aren't using it anyhow, you can ignore that part of the hardware message you may have received.
