Backing up info or as we know it data.
I have been harping on this to my friends and customers for 12 years now. and they still don't listen or act on it even though I have set up features that are as simple as push this icon once a week or leave external hard drive plugged in and it will do it automatically. It never fails to amaze me what their excuses are either. From huh oh I forgot to it was slowing it down during my game so I unplugged or uninstalled it. Then they panic and cry about it to me.
Worst case scenario is when their hard drive is just plain dead and outside of an expensive lab that pulls the drive disc out to get it , then they are s##t out of luck. I still spend an abundance of time pulling their data of a drive filled with adware and Trojans etc. then have to go back and clean out the suspicious files from the transfer . They turn of antivirus and malware protection " it slows me down, or keeps me from going to my sites". Ask them don't they think there's a reason and why didn't you call and ask why. Oh well keeps me busy and sometimes pays for my eqpt upgrades, lol. but please figure a way to save your precious memories and needful data in a way that will work FOR you. I have two external drives because of what it do, 1 is strictly backup of my personal stuff "automatic full system including windows 3 times a week" and 1 for storing other peoples info during repairs and for a month or so after repairs" just in case".. plus I manually send pictures and invoices to my shred drive daily. all this and I work 40-50 hrs. a week outside my house on real job in mental healthcare field. lol.at work we have shared drives, external backup raid arrays hot swaps etc. we never fully delete anything ever as servers hold any deleted items for ever "don't look at porn at work as it will always be there "...
