fixing replacement fan to motherboard

hello, I need to replace my cpu fan, I believe I have found one that is suitable, however it is fixed by ' push pins'. However my original fan is held on to the motherboard by spring loaded screws. The ' advisor ' at ebuyer could not tell me anything about the difference in these. So, am I able to remove original fan and heatsink + screws and straight forewardly replace with ' pushpin ' connection on new fan and heatsink. Thank you, smurff1

To do what you explained, you need the whole kit as in, entire "hatching mechanism", thus you can swap and use whatever you continue to use. if not part of the kit or anything, then you need to locate or find a true match to your needs. As I suspect, you get only what comes attached to the fan. just keep googling until you find a source. AND NO, they're not interchangeable using one type with another. I suggest you visit more online fan sources.

MB/CPU HS Fan, hard to recommend a replacement.

You might be able to just replace the fan or perhaps you'll want to replace the entire unit with a more efficient HS Fan unit. For replacements you need to know the CPU socket type .... Socket 775, 1155, etc.,
