How do I use the DVD_RW

I bought I dell Insiron 570, Windows 7,computer about 1 year ago.
When I click on "my computer" it says I have DVD-RW. Does that mean I can use this to burn discs? Is It just for data or can I do audio or vidio? How can I learn to do this? I'm an old lady and need all the help I can get.

You can use Windows 7 to burn/create CDs. Not sure whether Windows 7 does that but I believe there is free software that should that.

Personally, I've used Roxio Easy CD Creator for decades so I don't have a need or desire to use other SW to write/create/burn CD or DVDs.

That is a burner and you can burn DVDs and CDs. It'll burn whatever you want.

Learning how is almost impossible over this type of forum. The teacher will need to know more about the PC. Are there any community colleges or senior centers close? If so they will have classes for next to nothing or free.

Burning CD's

Thank you for the info.
I have Windows Media Player which I am trying to learn how to use. What I want to do is burn some audio CD's from a website so I can play them in my car and home CD players. I will be going to Wal Mart to buy some blank CD's. Is there a particular type that I need to buy?

DVD-RW/DVD+RW

"-RW" or "+RW" is stand for "Re-Writeable".
Just remember that the "-" MINUS and "+" PLUS sign is only act as an identifier of the two different format of the DVD used as they are not compatible to each other.
