Laptop won't start

Not an adapter issue, charging lite lights up and power button lights up, fan does not continuously run (like once per second) but no screen, doesn't boot, no beeps. Ran it until battery ran out, tried turning on without battery and plugged into adapter, tried pressing all buttons, no response but fan. Thanks in advance.

No screen, no boot, no beeps.

I'd start with replacing the PSU, then the motherboard.
But buying another laptop is much easier and not much more expensive if you can't do that yourself.
