case with usb 3.0?

i am sourcing for parts to build a pc.
i can understand if a motherboard's usb ports are said to be 2.0 or 3.0, but what i cant figure is why a pc's case has specs that say usb 2.0 or 3.0.
isnt a case just the shell, and all usb ports are on the motherboard, not the case?

That's to ID USB 3.0 ports

There are minor physical differences USB 2.0 vs 3.0. Since the case provides the "other USB ports" not found directly on the mtrbd. Then those cabled USB ports connect to USB 3.0 provided by the mtrbd. are readily supported and ID'ed as such. As already stated to you, these usually are frt. panel mounted but also anywhere and labeled as such.

have the USB connectors already installed in the front, with the tails ready to plug into the motherboard. Some don't.
