Problems with Flash??? files and quicktime

I have win me and use internet explorer 6.0. Patience with me, please. I cannot view a "flash page??" on a web site I was able to previously. I recently installed an old(4 yrs) program for my children, Math Rock from Creative Wonders, it insisted that I "update" to an old version of quicktime. Since then, quick time cannot load, I get error message: "quick time streaming failed to load because of an unknown error", "quick time streaming extras failed to load because the versions of quick time streaming and quick time streaming extras do not match", "Some of your quick time software failed to load because it is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version", when I try to do this with that message prompt, I get more errors & the computer seems to "freak out" & freeze up. Also "quicktimeplayer has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL. Quicktime player will now close, if you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer". Also, quicktime has attached itself to my startup menu (it wasn't there before). I've looked around and don't know what I want to update with quicktime, media player? I use Windows media player, and don't think I need quicktime media player, please help me resolve this. I just want to view flash pages, does windows media player v 7.0 (dont ask me to update, caused massive problems when I did update it once before) or real media player (v 6.0, I think), to this as well? If so, how do I set this up? Thank you so very much, this one is a real mess & I don't have a clue as to how to fix it.
