Computer recovered back to day one out of the box lost info

AppSumo had a "one nice little burrio" 12/2010 Windows Holiday bundle which I purchased mainly for my grandson the Playon and Plants vs Zombies
the Playon is great and still working but the Plants vs Zombies I am unable to recover - PopCap will not re-install it - say too bad so sad - is it recoverable?
