2 video cards in same computer

I have a Nvidia 550gtx-ti cyclone II GDS. im looking to buy a custom gaming pc with a single 550 ti or 560 ti. do i need the exact same model (of video cards) to run sli mode? or is it possible to run a 560 and a 550 in sli mode? Any tips of suggestions would be greatly appreciated as Diablo 3 nears release i need to get my comp asap!

If the seller won't answer or the maker, DO NOT BUY.

My answer is that we want exact matches. I'm not writing it has to be exact, I'm writing we want exact matches. Otherwise you find yourself in a support twilight zone where one support will tell you it's the mismatch and the next will tell you another story.

Why invite a support issue?
