Most people use My Computer (that's the XP term) or Windows Explorer. That's an excellent tool for copying and moving files.

What I do is quick and dirty. Make a new folder on your desktop. Mount your pendrive, when "windows opens with action to do" -OR- click My Computer icon, pick pendrive and select files to transfer either click&drag to folder(or desktop) -OR- send to->folder/desktop. You can once done, swap files to your pictures folder if not a direct folder to select. You can create a "shortcut" to the pictures folder to lessen steps. View the pictures folder "properties" for proper direction.
