Windows 7 TV Tuner Card

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to assist me today. I recently installed Windows 7 on my Sony Vaio VGN-FW390 laptop, and I wanted to buy a TV tuner card so I could record and watch live TV using Windows Media Center. I was looking at the Windows 7 certified WinTV-HVR-950Q USB 2.0 tuner. I have Dish Network Satellite Television. Would it be possible to just plug this tuner in and go? I'm going to assume that I can't because it's never that simple. So in that case what do I need to watch and record TV on my laptop?

Yep.

The down side to this tuner is that its connection is coax which limits the signal to RF. The Dish box does not send HD on this connection. But it will record and allow you to watch TV. If you have an external, roof top antenna and local HD broadcasting, the tuner will decode HD programming.

It's an easy install, just run the installation CD. I know because I have this one for my laptop.
