Compiling Videos

Is it possible to download a video downloader program that will store videos safely in its database which then I could save to a particular file folder on my computer? Will you always have to pay for such an animal?
Is there a web site that has a comprehensive datebase of old movies, tv shows etc. that I can link to?

1. Here's a site I use which contains a variety of old movies which have made it to the public domain and can be legally downloaded for saving to your computer. The link I've provided takes you to the "Movies" section but you can select "Feature Films" or other types of movies as well. In addition, exploring the site will display LOTS of other items available there as well.

All other types of copyrighted movie download sites are generally used illegally and therefore can't be discussed on these forums.

2. As to storing such videos, simply save the files to a DVD disc or a large hard drive.
