Computer newbies forum: acer aspire not starting up

acer aspire not starting up

I have a acer aspire 5315-2176, windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change migtht be the cause. to fix : insert windows installation disc and restart. However, do not have a disc (did not come with the computer)
File:\windows\system32\boot\winload.exe
Status: Oxc0000001
info: the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
Tried to contact Acer but because the warranty is over (by one month) they want to charge for support over the phone which may or may not help.
tried using f8 during start up ..no go
any advice would be much appreciated

About no recovery disks.

Today's machines require we make our own or order them. Let's see if Acer has some boot recovery method but first, I'm going to write as if there is no issue about losing files on the machine.
