Where did my "Run" command disappear to?

I'm the only person who uses this computer so I have Administrator clearance. It seems one day I could access RUN to search, say, msconfig and now it seems I have awakened to find RUN is nowhere to be found on my screen when I click START. Any help would be appreciated. I'm sure I did something dumb; I just don't know what. And I would like to get that RUN back. Thanks.

customize

make sure run is checked.

Which Computer?

Which operating system? Have you tried restarting the computer to see if it reappears?

Have you tried?

Right click the Start button and select Properties, then Customize, then the "Advanced" tab. Scroll down and put the check mark in the "Show Run" entry.

Run command is checked

Both of your replies got me to the same location, just by different routes, and in both cases the RUN command was checked. Also tried rebooting to no avail. I'm sorry I should have indicated my system is XP. I did notice something that maybe has always been there but somehow now seemed to jump out at me. Above the Start screen there is a picture logo with my name next to it. User account name I guess. Don't think I ever saw that before. Nevertheless, since I have Admin account, that shouldn't matter...or should it? Thanks in advance.

BTT41, Go to the link below and scroll down to line 57 (right column) and click on "Restore the Run Command" to download a reg file fix. Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.

I didn't try the RedEdit suggestion since as it turns out the problem has either self-corrected or once again I did something unwittingly to fix it. While in the Start Menu customization area, where the Run Command had already been checked (as I noted above), I decided to try something: I noticed that System Admin Tools was checked to "don't display". I changed it to "display in all prog menu and start menu", hit Apply, and voila, when I got back to the Start screen, there was my old friend RUN. I thank you all.
