Computer newbies forum: Internet Explorer 7 Problem !!!

Both from the command prompt (end commands with enter).
1. ipconfig
2. ping www.cnet.com
Post your findings.

And can you explain:
- "networked computer" (that's another one than this laptop?)
- "IE server address etc is correct". What's the IE server address, how did you determine it and what is etc?

PS. These are XP-commands (ipconfig and ping). I suppose they still work in Vista, but I'm not sure.

There are many possibilities,such as spyware,IE itself,maybe your firewall is blocking,etc.

Check your firewall settings.

Have you run any scans?

Try process of elimination,install FIREFOX.This way you'll be able to tell if IE7 is the culprit.

If it's the Vista machine, then you'll need to repair the system.

But it sounds like the issue is with the XP SP2 system. If that's the case, then first, uninstall IE 7 from the computer. If you are able to revert back to IE6, then download the full XP SP2 installer from the link below and run the installation.. The Reinstall/repair should fix any damaged files that might reside in IE6 and the rest of SP2. (I've frequently used the full SP2 installer to repair IE6.) Check to make sure you're connecting correctly with IE6. After repairing IE6, then maybe you could correctly install IE7.

start/control panel/network sharing/right click on adapter/properties/click repair. If this does work could be your settings. See help or adapter provider for information on settings changes. Also check for Ethernet adapter updates at your vendors site. Hope this helps.

Removing software over a period I found that Kasperley Anti Hacker turned out to be the problem.
Oh Boy !! So good to have it sorted !!
Now got I E 7 and Firefox on board !
