Event ID 29&Event ID 17,What is NtpClient, what does it doe

by stinman - 9/4/06 5:42 PM

I have Dell E310 XP pro Media center edition,512 ram 80gs,Pentiem4,all that stuff.
ID 29- The time provider NtpClient is configured to acquire time from one or more time sources, however none of the sources are currently accessible. No attempt to contact a source will be made for 14 min NtpClient has no source of accurate time.Nothing in help&support. Is it possible this has to do with my wireless cutting out sometimes?
ID-17 Error occurred during DNS. Lookup of the manually configured peer "time.windows.com,0x1" NtpClient will try in 15 min.A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host.[0x080072751]
This happens from time to time.I ran checkdisk 2 times today until I got down to 3 errors,No bad sectors.I am just wondering what it means in laymans terms[dummy terms]HaHa!
Also,I read in the wireless forum something about the stickeyness of the connection.I could not find it.
What is Connection Pooling/Data Sources?Does that address the stickiness of the connection?I read go to Power management and change to the highest setting and increase the stickiness of the connection.Thats tricky!!!Hope your out there John,or anybody who has the time to tell me something!Thankyou!!!
