connecting to two different network

My PC is connected to a workgroup and I am collecting teh the data from other PC on the same workgroup in real time. Now I need to connect to the another PC which is on teh different network and teh differnt workgroup. Can I use a second network card and and connect to this network to get the real time data?
The OS is Windows XP, SP2. I do understand that I need to have a permission access the data from both the networks. I have a permission to use the data from both the networks.

Any ideas?

One computer is in the same building. The other computer is in the difernt building but it is connected to a ethernet switch in the same building.

is all the same company and the routing table is configured and name resolution is in place, use \\computer name\share name.
