Best Free Screencap program?

I have a dvd player on my older laptop and am looking for a good program that can capture some pics from the movie.

Anyone know of some good programs?

Personally, I use the free program ScreenHunter (www.wisdom-soft.com/products/screenhunter_free.htm). It doesn't have a fancy interface, but it's features are pretty rich for a free utility:

* Capture a rectangled area, just the active window, or the entire screen.
* Use a timed recording or a pre-defined hotkey.
* Save to the clipboard or a file (BMP, JPG, or GIF).
* Define a location, and an automatic naming system.

I've never tried making a screen capture of a DVD, so I'm not sure how well it will work (may turn out a little blurry, and timing may be tricky). However, it's definately worth a try considering the price.

Screen capture

I am a regular user of MWSNAP

very small pc footprint, very very basic and easy to use. My setting is to have it launch when I press CTRL/SHFT/A cursor changes to a corner drag then I simply left/hold mouse to the other corner.

Release and MSWNAP window appears. Either CTRL/C [copy], CTRL/P [print] or CTRL/S [save] or use the pulldown toolbar.

Also can stay resident for regular use.
